Brief History of the Department
To enhance the
quality of Information Technology and Computer Science Education
imparted and to open the new courses with today’s challenging
scenario at par with best in globally changing education environment
the Department of Computer Science was
established.
B.Sc.
(Computer Science) Computer
Science subject was introduced on Under Graduate (Science) in B.Sc.
in 1992 with the combination of Physics and Mathematics and Physics
and Statistics and is continued till date. At present more than 300
students opted Computer Science as subject in B.Sc. I, II and
III.
Post Graduate Diploma in Computer
Applications Post Graduate Diploma
in Computer Applications was introduced in 1994 by the Computer
Centre. This is a one year (Two Semester) programme. The aim of
PGDCA course is to give an all round training in Computer
Application, sufficient to equip a person to independently use of
computer in efficient management of word processing, data
processing, use of spread sheet management, scientific applications
and programme. This is effective and much popular course run
successfully by Computer Centre since last 12
years.
B.C.A. The
Department of Computer Science started a three years (Six Semester)
self financing degree course in 2004 as Bachelor in Computer
Applications (BCA). The response of this course is best & the
first batch of BCA is going to be completed in June
2006.
Major Facilities Available
(Infrastructure): Three ultra Modern
Computer Labs for Software, Languages are the backbone for the
training of the students of the department.
Equipments: One digital Electronics Lab with hardware
equipments is available for the students to give the hardware
insight of computer.
