Sri Aurobindo Study Center

 

Brief History of Department :

The teaching of Education as a subject leading to one year B.Ed.Sc degree was first introduced in the University of Lucknow as early as in 1944 in the Department of Philosophy. The Department of Education was subsequently established in the Faculty of Arts in the year 1953 with Prof. R.B. Mathur as its Head, which later acquired the status of an independent faculty in 1978 with Dr. S.N. Jha as its first Dean, Since then the Department has not looked back and can boast of some impressive achievements. Department of Education in Uttar Pradesh, was conferred the status of an Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE) by the Central Ministry of Human Resources Development in 1994. The Department of Education, University of Lucknow has been provided financial assistance for duration of five years under SAP from the year 2004 to 2009.

Self-focusing and its consequences in intense laser plasma interaction by Prof. M.S. Sodha, sponsored by DST.

  1. Prof. R. Roy Choudhary and Prof. U.C. Vashishtha are currently working on DBT sponsored Awareness and training programme on bio-pesticides and use of neem based products.

  2. Prof. U.C. Vashishtha is working on The pedagogical import of conceptual reformulation for integral education with special reference to Kena Upanishad funded by UGC.

  3. Monitoring of DPEP inputs in U.P. by Prof. U.C. Vashishtha, sponsored by MHRD.

  4. To study the quality and impact of training given to Shiksha Mitra on the basis of the training module of 30 days and to identify the training needs of Shiksha Mitras by Dr. A Shukla and Dr. A Bajpai sponsored by SIEMAT, Allahabad.
