Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programme OBJECTIVES OF THE MBA PROGRAMME PROGRAMME DESIGN:- The duration of the programme is two academic years. Each academic year begins in July and ends in April and is divided into two semesters of about 15 to 18 weeks. At the end of the first year, the students are required to work on an internship during the summer. The students are also required to work on comprehensive final projects reflecting their learning and skills, thereby showing the competencies acquired in the programme. PEDAGOGY:- A variety of instructional methods is followed to facilitate integrated learning . The pedagogy includes classroom lectures, analysis and discussion of cases, seminars, self-learning activities, field visits, group projects, simulation exercises, and independent research. The actual mix varies with the nature of the course. Eminent personalities from industry and the academia are also invited to deliver lectures on different issues. Emphasis is laid on imparting leadership, interpersonal and communication skills to the students.
INTEGRATED LEARNING APPROACH
CURRICULUM LUMBA has adopted the UGC model Curriculum from session 2003. The existing curriculum is continuously updated to incorporate changes that are taking place in the business environment. The curriculum consists of compulsory and elective courses for specializing in the area of Marketing, Finance, HRM and Informatics. FIRST YEAR COURSES
SUMMER TRAINING At the end of second semester, all students will have to undergo summer training of 8-10 weeks with an industrial, business or service organization by taking up a project study.
SECOND YEAR During second year, in addition to compulsory papers and project studies, a student shall have to choose six papers in third semester and three optional papers in fourth semester from the list of optional papers announced at the beginning of each semester.
