The aim of the Course is to impart knowledge and develop skills in various areas of Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations. Human resources management is an all pervasive process beginning from procurement of right kind of personnel required for performing various types of functions essential for attainment of stipulated objectives up to their separation from organization. Human resource is very delicate and complex and its management obviously requires very sophisticated and careful handling. Human resource management course strives to blend organizational needs on the one hand and satisfaction of employee's needs on the other.
Realizing the vital need for selection of adequately trained human resource managers in
organizations, University of Lucknow started a two-year self financing master's course in Human Resource management and Industrial Relations which is based on the assessment of varied kinds of roles and responsibilities which human resource managers would be required to shoulder.
The syllabus which we have finally developed generally veers around the management of human resource and industrial relations with special focus on industrial organizations. In addition various other ancillary dimensions related to finance, production and materials, marketing, computer information office etc. have also been covered to the extent to which their general understanding is essential. Due consideration to the use of appropriate methodologies and practical training has been given.
In order to apprise the students of the various acts and statutes applicable to the industries, students of the program are required to visit two-three industries of repute each year. It provides an opportunity to get first hand information as also the feel environment. Senior HR executives address and interact with the students and encourage them for their future assignments and also brief them about the challenges which they would be facing as HR managers.
