Recognizing the vital role that agricultural education plays in ensuring food security, environmental sustainability, and rural development, the University of Lucknow is committed to nurturing high-quality human resources in this field. It supports the academic and developmental needs of all affiliated agriculture colleges across the districts of Lucknow, Lakhimpur, Sitapur, Hardoi, and Raebareli, thereby contributing significantly to the advancement of agricultural knowledge and practice for a sustainable agri-socio-economic future.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture program, starting from session 2025-26, at the University of Lucknow, Faculty of Agriculture, is a specialized undergraduate course aimed at equipping students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills across various domains of agriculture. In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the program is structured according to the recommendations of the Sixth Deans’ Committee of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). Included within the Faculty of Agriculture are the Departments of Agronomy, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Horticulture and Vegetable Science, Soil Science and Agriculture Chemistry, Crop Physiology and Biochemistry, Plant Pathology and Microbiology, Entomology and Seed Technology, and Agriculture Economics and Extension.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture program is designed to foster a proactive, innovative, and opportunity-driven mindset among students through internships and industrial attachments. These learning components equip students with practical insights and empower them to identify viable avenues for self-employment and entrepreneurship. The graduate program prepares them for diverse and dynamic career paths across various sectors of agriculture and allied domains. To cater to diverse student interests and career goals, the curriculum includes choice-based Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC), Elective Courses, and Value-Added Courses (VACs). Internships are designed to deepen practical skills in the chosen subject area, while a mandatory study tour provides exposure to real-world applications of agricultural knowledge and introduces students to potential career opportunities. An Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), established for each student, would function as a digital repository that securely stores academic credits earned from various recognized institutions. This system facilitates seamless credit transfer, promotes academic flexibility, and supports a more personalized learning experience.
