Library Rules

  • Students must present their library membership card at the time of issuing books.
  • Membership is open throughout the year for both undergraduate (U.G.) and postgraduate (P.G.) students.
  • The C.L.L. Library issues up to five books to each student for two semesters.
  • The membership fee for undergraduate and postgraduate students of all faculties is ₹250 per academic session.
  • Students must deposit the C.L.L. membership fee in the university's general fund and present the receipt at the C.L.L. registration counter.
  • Students may exchange books during the session and must return them within one week after the completion of their examinations.
  • Students who have not returned the books of the previous session will not be provided membership again.
  • To get books, the list of desired books will have to be submitted at the counter. At the same time, the counter clerk will mark the date of getting the book on the card.
  • If a student loses and damages the book, a new edition of a book or a fee of three times the original price will be payable with a charge of ₹5/-.
  • For textbooks, the overdue charge is ₹2 per book per month, which will not be waived, and the result will be withheld.
  • In case of loss of textbooks, the defaulter must pay three times the cost of the book or bring the latest edition of the book along with overdue charges for the unauthorized period.
  • Students from all disciplines are issued books for a session and may exchange them during the session and must return them within seven days of the last paper.
  • If a student fails to return books on time, a notice will be sent to their home address. Without clearance (“No Dues”) from the library.
  • The Library Membership Card is non-transferable. If lost, it must be reported immediately to the issuing authority.
  • Only subject-specific (discipline-related) books are issued to students.
  • Photocopying facilities are available at a nominal cost of ₹1 per page.
  • Separate counters are available for especially abled students, girls, and boys.
  • The library is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on all working days.
